Minister for Development Dimitris Sioufas approves financing for research projects - 19/05/2006
Acting on a recommendation from general secretary for research and technology Prof. Ioannis Tsoukalas, development minister Dimitris Sioufas has signed decisions providing financing for research projects with a total budget of 23,073,801 euros and public expenditure of 22,607,305 euros. The projects are being implemented in the framework of Measure 3.3 of the Operational Programme for the Information Society and Measure 4.5 of the Operational Programme for Competitiveness.

Development of Industrial Research and Technology - 13/05/2005
After a speech by research and technology general secretary Professor Ioannis Tsoukalas, development minister Dimitris Sioufas, signed decisions to encourage and develop industrial research and to promote innovation with grants for projects to be executed in Greece by new businesses. Specifically, he approved inclusion and financing of 9 proposals in the second cycle of Action 4.3.2 (Programme to Develop Industrial Research and Technology in New Enterprises) with a total budget of 2,444,044 euros.

The Competitiveness Council of Ministers of the European Union met yesterday in Brussels. Greece was represented by Minister for Development Dimitris Sioufas, accompanied by the general secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Georgios Mergos and the special secretary for competitiveness, Spiros Efstathopoulos.
Creation of liaison offices in universities, technological educational institutes and research centres - 05/05/2005
Development minister Dimitris Sioufas and education minister Marietta Yannakou have signed decisions to support the creation of Liaison Offices in universities, technological educational institutes and research centres. Specifically, 12 proposals were approved for inclusion and financing under Action 4.2.3 (Liaison Offices – Technocatalysts) with a total budget of 3,507,825 euros.
Exhibition of innovative products at the Zappion Hal - 18/04/2005
European Commission president Jose Manuel Barrosο today visited the exhibition of innovative products and services “Technology on land and at sea” at the Zappion Hall, where he spent an hour being guided around by development minister Dimitris Sioufas and General Secretariat for Research and Technology Prof Ioannis Tsoukalas.
Transfer and spread of technology to businesses - 01/04/2005
Development minister Dimitris Sioufas and education minister Marietta Yannakou have signed decisions to support the transfer and spread of technology to businesses. Forty-four proposals have been approved for inclusion and financing in Action 4.3.6.1 (Bilateral and Multilateral Research & Technology Development cooperation), with a total budget of 593,080 euros.
